This is the first post. It may seem like a simple thing, but to get to this stage – a simple blog post – I have had to learn how to

  • set up a virtual machine, running Linux
  • install a web server
  • install a static web site generator
  • use a service to copy the pages to the web-facing directory.

I have made many mistakes and become more familiar with config files and forums than I thought would have to, at the outset. But now I have the means to document my journey so far, and to move to the next stage: uploading data and displaying it.
